Jewish Book Review: Israel’s new disciples By: Julia Fisher

This book really inspired me to reach out to my Jewish brothers and sisters with a new boldness. God has defined the Jewish people as His people. Many gentiles have taken offense to this claim, and many Jewish people are embarrassed with that term.

But, the fact of the matter is: Jesus was the gift of salvation for all of humanity. Jesus was a Jew. God had to birth His Son out of some bloodline, and He chose to bless the Jewish people with the lineage of Jesus.

That being said, God is also not a respecter of persons. He provided salvation through Jesus to all the nations, not just the Jewish people.

Ironically, it is the Jewish people who still seem to be the last to grasp Jesus. The oppression and retaliation from families and communities is so rampant, that many people will not risk even entertaining eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.

They fear rejection and ex-communication from their friends and family and value acceptance more than the freedom that Christ offers.

This book is the testimony of fourteen amazing Jewish risk-takers and their personal experiences. It is a vivid and true tale of how they overcame the fear of oppression and were willing to risk it all to find the true meaning of life on earth.

Each of their lives has greatly impacted thousands of others in the Middle-East and throughout the world.

Their boldness has created a movement that can no longer be scoffed at and ignored as nominal. They are not on the edge of offense. They are standing up for themselves and their faith and are willing to put their lives on the line for the chance to enlighten others with the salvation message. Jesus is the Messiah that the Jewish people have been looking for.

This book shows the personal journey of how each one got to know Jesus not only as the Jewish Messiah, but as their personal savior and the one who weeps for all of humanity, not just those who have Jewish blood flowing in their veins.
